"The World Awaits Your Signature" - Graduation Address at CMRIT

The 2025 Graduation Ceremony of CMR Institute of Technology featured an address titled "The World Awaits Your Signature," delivered by Mr. Sundaram Chandrasekaran, President of the Whitefield Area Commerce and Industries Association (WACIA).

His talk encouraged graduates to build careers driven by passion and purpose rather than by pay-checks or titles. It highlighted that a degree is a beginning, not a destination, and that human qualities such as curiosity, compassion, and creativity will remain vital even in an age shaped by artificial intelligence.

The session closed with an inspiring reminder to the students: "Don't just graduate with a degree - graduate with a purpose."

76 participants from 35 members industries attended this program many doubts clarified.

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Hqrs Office, New Delhi has launched a special Scheme called " SPREE " – Scheme for Promoting Registration of Employers and Employees, a special initiative by ESIC to extend social security coverage to more workers across the country.

SPREE is a limited-period scheme aimed at encouraging employers to register themselves and their eligible employees under the ESI Act, 1948. This initiative provides an excellent opportunity for unregistered establishments to register under the ESI and the employers who have not registered all the eligible employees are requested to register. ESI Scheme provides benefits such as medical care, sickness benefits, maternity benefits and other medical benefits to their family.

On 19th September WACIA conducted a seminar on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH). The session aimed to create awareness about maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all employees. The resource person Ms. Jayaprada H.V Partner M/s. Metis POSH Consulting Services LLP explained the key provisions of the POSH Act, roles of the Internal Complaints Committee, and the importance of sensitivity in professional interactions. The seminar was interactive, with case studies and Q & A sessions that helped participants understand their rights and responsibilities. Overall it was an insightful and valuable session reinforcing our commitment to a safe and dignified workplace. 75 participants from 35 members Industries were present.

A badminton tournament was arranged for employees of member industries at Power Play Seetharampalya on 23rd August 2025... Participants took part enthusiastically and were appreciative of the arrangements. The winners were:

Women of WACIA (Whitefield Area Commerce and Industries Association) wasofficially inaugurated on 20th August, 2025 at the WACIA Building, a moment filled with hope and inspiration. The event brought together women entrepreneurs, professionals, and well-wishers across industries who share a common vision - to create a supportive community where women in industry can grow, connect, and lead with confidence.

The event was graced by the distinguished Chief Guest Ms. Uma Reddy - Senior Vice President FKCCI and the very accomplished Guest of Honour Ms. Reena Suvarna - ACP Whitefield. The keynote addresses emphasized the importance of women's participation in industrial growth and the need for inclusive ecosystems that provide equal opportunities. Senior representatives from industry bodies entrepreneurs offered words of encouragement and reaffirmed the vital role women play in shaping the future of industry.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with a welcome address by the President of WACIA Mr. Chandrasekaran S. that set the tone for the gathering of creating a strong, collaborative platform that supports women in business and industry through networking, mentorship, policy advocacy, and skill development.

The formal launch of the Association was followed by the unveiling of the "WACIA Matters" - WoW edition book. As the formal ceremony drew to a close, members and guests enjoyed an engaging networking session - forging new friendships, exploring collaborations, and celebrating the beginning of a journey that belongs to every woman in the Association.

The inauguration was more than just an event; it was the start of a movement — one that promises to empower, uplift, and create a lasting forum for women in industry of the Greater Whitefield Area.

A First Aid Training was conducted in WACIA on 14-05-2025 by St. John Ambulance as organized by WACIA under the regular workshop/training for the benefit of it's member industries.

45 employees belonging to 13 various member industries have participated this enlightening training. Shri Sannamariyappa, the experienced and passionate faculty demonstrated first aid with the help of practical demo. Dr. Enti. Rangareddy Our Executive Committee Member/ Chairman- HR-IR Training Committee welcomed the participants. Our President Mr. Silvian Noronha, President Elect Mr. S. Chandrasekaran, Treasurer Mr. Raghav Poojary was present in the program. WACIA organizes the First Aid training every 3 to 4 months in association with St. John Ambulance, a Govt. of India recognized reputed service organization.

WACIA Annual Sports Meet - on 23.02.2025

We held our annual sports meet on 23rd Feb, 2025. 246 players from 20 member companies participated in cricket, volleyball and throw ball games and made this event into a grand success! Also to note that, Women's games were held for the first time and was received extremely well by the participants.

Program Inaugurated by Our President Mr. Silvian Noronha and Labour Office Mr. Shekarappa Gaddad and other 6 Sr. Labour Inspectors were Present in the program. Mr. Shekarappa Gaddad explained about Labour Law and other details for the employees benefits. 33 employees participated.

Yoga work shop on 2nd December 2024. Dr. Yogi Devaraj Yoga Guru explained benefits doing yoga and demonstrated few yoga aasanas. 20 members participated.

Industrial Safety & Health Training Program

WACIA in association with the Department of Factories & Boilers, Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Karnataka, organized a Training program on Industrial Safety and Health on November 28, 2024 at the WACIA premises.

This Program inaugurated by Mr. Srinivas Anand Sr. Asst. Director Department of Factories & Boilers, President WACIA Mr. Silvian Noronha and Dr. Enti. Ranga Reddy Executive Committee Member/ Chairman HR-IR Training Committee were present along with Mr. Hanumantha Rao Trainer (Health Specialist).

The Flag ship event of WACIA Premier League- Hemmersbach cup annual cricket tournament for 2023-24 was conducted on Sunday the 18th February 2024 at Whitefield Cricket Academy Chennasandra. 14 teams participated from member Companies. Some of the member Companies M/s. San Engineering given 2 and M/s. Hemmersbach given 3 teams. The game was conducted on knock out basis played.

M/s. Rajamane Industries Pvt Ltd was the winner and M/s. Associated Hydro Pressings Pvt Ltd was the runner up of the tournament 2023-24.
